We started our afternoon with a prayer service giving thanks for the gift of Grandparents and remembering those who were unable to come and those who are no longer with us. The children provided the entertainment with poetry, song, readers theatre and The Seige of Ennis. Great Granny Waters, kindly agreed to chat to the children about school life in the past. The children surprised us with their intelligent and interesting questions and were amazed to hear stories of bottled tea warming by the fire but relieved to learn that while there wasn’t much fun to be had at school, at least they had a field to play football and tig on.
The children and their parents kindly provided lots of treats for their Grandparents to enjoy with a cup of tea. We are sure that the children will have happy memories of this day.
