Dia Daiobh go léir,
Tá súil agam gur bhain gach duine taithneamh as an deireadh seachtaine. Welcome back to another week of work and play. It's hard to believe we are at the end of May already. We're going to ask everyone to put in a really good effort this week. Next week we have a Bank Holiday, and if you look at your school calendar, you'll see that we were due to be off on Tuesday as well, so that means you have a four day weekend to look forward to! We have added eight more Lego Challenges here and we want everyone to take a bit of time to look at the Farm Safety video above. I'm sure that many of you are getting to spend time helping on the farm at home, where there is a lot to learn but it is important to remember that a farm is a work place not a playground so we need to be very aware of Farm Safety. This file will also bring you to some other useful farm safety resources. Our past pupil Brady Maguire was involved in the book Only a Giant Can Lift a Bull, that you will find in this file. Enjoy the week ahead, work hard, get active and keep safe everyone! Junior Room Middle Room Senior Room Family Challenges Information for Parents Good morning everyone, Back to start another week. It's a pity to see a change in the weather but hopefully the sun will be shining down on us again soon. Don't forget to keep getting in your daily exercise, whether indoors or outdoors. There are some ideas in this file if you need some inspiration. In the Family Challenges section, you'll find a Lego Challenge which is a great way to pass some time if the weather isn't good. The Middle Room will be learning about Florence Nightingale this week, if you would like to have a look too. Last Monday May 12th marked International Nurses Day and what would have been Florence Nightingale's 200th Birthday if she were still alive. We know there are so many heroes working in our hospitals at this time from doctors to nurses, care staff, administrative staff, cleaners, physiotherapists, porters and more. Many of us say goodbye to them every day as they head off to work. Florence Nightingale was a real hero in her time. Enjoy the week ahead. Junior Room Middle Room Senior Room Family Challenges Information for Parents Dia Daiobh a pháistí, We hope you're all well. The weather has been fantastic so hopefully you all got a chance to enjoy it over the weekend. We love to see how everyone is getting on so keep the photos coming. Try to send some samples of your work to your teachers too so they can see how you're doing. You are welcome to leave comments on posts or photos to say hello to your friends (comments will be approved before posting). There is a new STEM challenge in the Family Challenges section if you want to give it a try, and everyone should be trying to do a little bit of project work either from the project ideas or from your own interests. Doing a bit of reading and writing every day is really important and don't forget to keep active. Have a great week! Good Morning Everyone, We hope you had a great weekend and are refreshed and ready for the week ahead. We hope that 6th class had an especially good weekend and had lots of fun and treats. By now, you've probably all heard the news that schools aren't going to be opening until September. When you heard last March that we were closing for two weeks, I'm sure that most of you were a little bit excited at the prospect of a few extra weeks off, but at this stage it's most likely that many of you are missing your friends, your routine and even your teachers. The Summer term is always a fun one, with sunshine, sports days, school tours and a little less work. Unfortunately, the Summer term is going to look a bit different this year. I think this is particularly disappointing for 6th class because these would have been their final few months together as a class. You are not far from the minds of all the teachers at this time. The teachers are busy putting their heads together, to work out a plan to somehow mark the end of 6th class's time in Lisboduff National school, and although you will not have the usual Graduation Ceremony for you, we will never the less find a way to mark the end of your time with us in a memorable way. The sun continues to beam down on us and these long, sunny days you are spending with your families are days you will remember forever and should be enjoyed and treasured. I want to remind you that while things are different at the minute, Lisboduff NS is still your school, your teacher is still your teacher, your class is still your class and your friends are still your friends. We might be apart but we are all still connected. I'm going to ask you all to try to make the most of the weeks ahead, keep at your schoolwork, spend time with your families, have fun, make memories and stay positive. We will all be so happy to see each other again when the time comes but it doesn't mean we can't be happy now. I've linked a song below that most of you are familiar with from school. Have a listen and keep smiling. Take care, Mrs Burns, Ms. Connolly, Mrs. Murphy and Ms. Dempsey You'll find updates in all sections of the website, the links below will get you there quickly. Confirmation Class.
We are all thinking of this special bunch who were due to celebrate their Confirmation today. This week we have been looking at the Serenity Prayer. Unfortunately, we cannot change the current circumstances we find ourselves in. We look to the serenity prayer to bring peace, faith, and certainty to our minds and hearts. We ask God for the wisdom and ability to gracefully accept "what is,". Abbie, Eve, Muireann, Darragh, Fionn & Jack We wish you a lovely day with your family and look forward to celebrating with you all in the near future. With every good wish, Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Burns, Ms. Connolly, Ms. Dempsey & Madge. |
