Well done to all the Poutch sisters, who achieved their yellow tip Kickboxing belts this week. A fantastic achievement, keep it up girls!
Thankyou to Cavan Sports Partnership for arranging for some of their coaches to come and do "Little Athletics" with us. We really enjoyed this fast paced and fun session.
We spent the month preparing with our Daily Mile and then we all got together to do the Parkrun in Cootehill. We invited our families and relations, neighbours and friends along to join us as well as the GAA club and the wider community. Operation Transformation leader Sarah Callaghan was there along with the RTE Camera Crew and we were delighted that the Bunnoe Community were so well represented. We thoroughly enjoyed the run and are hoping we will inspire more people to make it a regular event. We were delighted to have Cathy from the Tug of War Association in to teach us about how it's done. Tug of war is a fun and exciting sport that everyone can get involved in. We learned lots and Cathy gave us our own rope for the school along with some information for the teachers to help us improve our skills. 3rd and 4th class will be participating in a competition in December so watch this space for more news about how we got on. The links below provide information and tips helping children lead healthier lifestyles. The committee will also send home information from time to time on how you can get more involved at home.
Meet the members of our Active Schools Committee. Our Committee meet regularly to brainstorm ideas and to organise our Active School activities. They also help to keep everyone informed about what is going on and encourage everyone to be active. Because there is so much work to be done and so many enthusiastic pupils, we decided we need a sub committee. The sub committee are kept busy helping to organise equipment and displays and are there when we need a bit more help to for any of our events.
