On January 11th 2016, there was great excitement in the school when Sergeant Seán Hackett delivered our very own flag and a copy of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. Caolán Fitzsimons accepted the Proclamation on behalf of all the pupils and read an extract from it. Iarlaith O' Reilly, our youngest pupil, accepted the Flag. We learned all about flag protocol and how to ensure our flag is respected. Sergeant Hackett set us the task of writing our own Proclamation. We have already begun work on our Proclamation and hope to open our doors to the wider community on March 15th to the entire community to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising.
